Who are we?

A group of non-partisan citizens concerned with the welfare, politics and future of Powhatan County and the nation in general

Powhatan Citizens Alliance (PCA) is not affiliated with any political, religious, or activist group or organization

 
Mission:
-

Provide truthful analysis, interpretation and comments on the impact of actions by local elected officials, and where deemed appropriate national officials as well

-

Maximize public awareness of the aforementioned actions and analysis at both local and national levels

-

Provide information regarding government meetings, events, proposals and activities

-

Provide facts and figures of county financial issues, status and proposals

-

Expose corruption, waste and misrepresentation in local government

 
How Will We accomplish the mission?
-

Through dissemination of information gathered by any member of the PCA, submitted to the “governing panel ”, where it will be reviewed and discussed with the originator and distributed to the membership as appropriate

Encourage and promote members to actively participate in meetings, events, correspondence, and social media to further the organization’s mission and ideology

-

Encourage correspondence from citizens to elected officials

 
Communication To and From Members
-

Primary communication will be through email, supplemental through regular mail (for those not possessing email)

-

All members will be encouraged to forward information, that conforms to the Alliance’ mission, to the “governing panel” for distribution to all members

 
Who can join?
-

Any Powhatan citizen 18 years or older

-

Anyone with a desire to stay abreast of activities and actions in local and national government

-

Citizens who are willing to speak up when officials take actions not in the best interest of ALL Powhatan citizens or American citizens anywhere

 
Governing Panel
-

Powhatan Citizens Alliance will initially be governed by a three member founding panel

-

Elections will be held annually, limited to voting one (1) new member on the panel with any member-in-good-standing eligible for nomination

 
Meetings and Dues
-

Meetings will be held on an "as needed" basis and will be scheduled by the Governing Panel

-

Dues - currently no plans for collection of dues
